Temperature in Tallinn by the Tallinn University of Technology

We are proud to present our Temperature Server, which is capable of communicating the outside temperature measured at Tallinn University of Technology (Tallinn, Estonia) to the potential clients in five ways:
Temperature with voice
  • by www-page with voice report in Estonian (.wav); the graph is updated every 5 minutes

  • by simple www-page (English); updated every second, self-refreshing every 5 minutes

  • by TELNET connection (English); updated every second
    Temperature in Tallinn by e-mail (Estonian)
  • by e-mail (Estonian) - see also button below; updated once per second;

  • by dedicated client software - primarily used during our lab exercises;

We can provide you with a free (see footnote) JPEG color graph of 640 x 260 pixels, covering the period of interest (with some gaps; from March 4'th, 1998, to the current day) specified below. But:

NOTE: Archive data access is limited to displaying a year's length of temperature information due to limited capabilities of our server hardware. We apologize for any resulting inconvenience. We were hoping to find support from the user community, but have failed to locate any resources for upgrading the hardware. Please have in mind that our system focuses primarily on satisfying the needs of student lab exercises.;
NOTE: Due to hard disk drive failure our measurement system was down from 03 to 10'th of November 2003 and from 30'th July to 9'th of November 2008

Beginning:  Year: Month:  , Day: , Hour

JPEG Graph quality:

We have taken care of the cache issue - up to 10 graphs should download trouble-free now; if problems occur, view the graph and press "Reload" to make the cache refresh. It should not take more than one minute to receive the graph. The process may take up to 2 minutes. Enjoy!

Trending has been added to the Simple Web Page, Telnet and e-mail messages. "=", "/", and "\" are used to tell if the last temperature value has been within 3% of the previous 5-minute interval measurement, or has increased or decreased since, correspondingly.

Temperature by e-mail: to receive t-message, click the t-mail button below, or the envelope above to add comments:

We also keep temperature history and statistics in a neat table with 24h minimum, maximum, and average values, as well as outdated daily temperature graphs (Windows Bitmap format files, 38 KB each); who would need them now...

Article Distributed temperature measurement system in public networks - the way we did it - with LabVIEW graphical programming environment, at first...

NOTE: Temperature measurement data is provided "as is" for personal, non-commercial use only. All information requests are logged.
